How we Care For You
We pride ourselves on our level of care, and are always available for any enquiries you may have about liposuction.
You may fear that once your liposuction procedure has been performed that our commitment to you ends: This is most certainly not the case. We offer you continuous access to your surgeon and nursing staff, whom you can contact at any time.
We will call you the next day; and request that you come in for an appointment 1week,1month and 3 months after your procedure.
You are welcome however to come into the clinic at any time and as many times as you feel necessary. These appointments are free of charge.
Immediately after your procedure, you may feel drowsy, so it is important to have someone drive you home and stay overnight.
We understand that this may not always be possible. If that is the case we will keep you in the clinic until you are able to taxi home.
You will be given antibiotics and instructions to prevent infection, it is important you follow these directions and finish the whole course of the antibiotics prescribed for you.
For 1 week after the procedure, you will be required to wear a compression garment day and night . After that time you can take off the garment at night but must put it back on during the day.
The garments are made out of a strong lycra type material and are designed to hide under your clothing so no one need know you are wearing them. Tight clothing should be avoided for 4 weeks as they may leave some significant lines. This is especially so for the tummy and inner thighs.
You may experience some discomfort, tenderness and stiffness initially (a little like having done a strenuous gym workout), but this will gradually disappear and most patients tolerate the discomfort without the need for pain killers (e.g. Nurofen/ Panadol). Swelling and bruising usually subsides over 4-8 weeks or so but your final result may not be apparent for up to 16 weeks.
We recommend you walk for at least 30 minutes each day beginning on day 1 and continue with reduced normal activities unless instructed otherwise. You can return to non strenuous work within 2 days, however, you should wait at least 3-4 weeks before attempting more intense physical activity such as going to the gym. If discomfort is experienced with any activity it should be discontinued.
We encourage you to attend all your follow up appointments after your procedure. This is to ensure both you and your surgeon are happy with the results.
We pride ourselves on our level of post-procedure care and are always available for any enquiries you may have.
